動作動詞「計算する・見積もる」を表現するための英作文です。

 

「計算」と聞いて数式を思い浮かべるのは高校生。
「計算」と聞いて金勘定を思い浮かべるのは大学生。
「計算」と聞いて駆け引きを思い浮かべるのは社会人。

 

「計算」にも色々な意味があります。

 

測定や計算といったカテゴリーは必要な人ならば毎日のように使う言葉ですが、不要な人はほとんど使うことのない言葉かもしれませんね。

 

自分自身で英単語のカテゴリーを作る場合、興味のあるもの・好きなもの・日常生活で馴染んでいるものから題材にしていくのがベターです。

 

興味の無いものは頭に入る余地がありませんから。

 

覚えておいてもムダにはなりませんが、滅多に使わない記憶は徐々に薄れていってしまうので定着しません。勉強に置いても、必要なモノと不要なモノの選別は大切ですよ。

「推定する、判断する」 calculate（他動詞）

「計算、見積もり、推定」 calculation（名詞）
